SERVICE FORCE
The Georgia-Pacific Foundation sets aside resources to improve life in the communities where they operate. During my time as a Process Controls Engineer at Georgia-Pacific Mt. Holly, I founded the local Service Force Chapter “SEVA” at Mt Holly as a part of GP Foundation’s volunteer and outreach organization.
Founding SEVA involved different aspects such as complying with corporate organizational requirements, Board and Committee set-up, creating organizational structure, recruiting Board members, employee engagement, and road-maps for annual events.
THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE
I organized and led a Thanksgiving Food drive to benefit the Mt. Holly Community Relief Organization. This effort involved poster design using InDesign CC, and sharing and involving employees for this initiative across the site! We collected over 1000 canned foods, in addition to fresh food during Thanksgiving season.
HOUR OF CODE EVENT
I organized and led the Hour of Code Event at a local middle school to promote computer science and STEM education!
UNITED WAY’S DAY OF GIVING
The SEVA team volunteered for A Day of Giving organized by the United Way of Gaston County where we painted shelves and items for Habitat for Humanity.
